This is our new baby lamb who currently spends the night inside the run until we re-arrange a few things in the sheep house.  Her name is Hope and she is 5 months old.

I love your property.
You are blessed to live in such a beautiful setting, with acreage.
(Except in fire season.   Wink )

Thank You for your kind words, @Aquarius!

I "just" posted a prayer request about a near-by fire.

It gets tedious.

I saw the Prayer Request thread earlier today.
Also heard about the fire on local talk radio this morning.
Hoping and praying it is contained soon !!
This is a Pig Tale. Sort of "This little Piggy went to market" tale.

About two years ago my #3 daughter brought home a pig from the auction. A little male mini pig named Captain. Captain grew up and of course #3 daughter thought that he was lonely so she found a girl mini pig.
Miss Piggy was already pregnant when she came to live on the small property that I call home.

Miss Piggy had 10 piglets. Miss Piggy didn't  understand human ideas such as property lines and such. Miss Piggy took the 10 little piglets on field trips to adjacent properties so they could hunt for grubs. Grubs of course live under ground and the only way for a family of pigs to find grubs is to till the ground with their snouts. Which caused the neighbors to be rather upset at their lawns and shrubbery being uprooted in random patches.

We found homes for 9 of the piglets. Soon after Miss Piggy and her daughter ran away and we thought that perhaps a neighbor had taken justice into his own hands. By this time Captain was in a pen all by himself to keep from having  more piglets.

Three months later Miss Piggy's daughter, Bella, came home. She soon gave birth to five little piglets. As soon as they were weaned I gave them away. Bella ran away and we have not seen her since. Then Miss Piggy came home. Someone had cut her ears off. Poor Miss Piggy. She was not well. BUT she gave birth to ten more piglets!

We have been finding them homes. We were down to three.  They are full grown now. Not so little anymore. Craigslist is a wonderful place.

A man called from Orlando, he wanted just the largest male pig.  He came in a car, he didn't have a cage. No problem, he says. I'll put him in the trunk of the car, he says. When he got to our place, he had a sad story. On the hour drive from Orlando he had had a flat tire. He got lost looking for our address but yes he still wanted the pig. He stuffed the pig in his trunk and off he went.

Twenty minutes later the man called. He was on the highway (Interstate-4) and his trunk popped open. He pulled over in the emergency lane, got out of the car just in time to see the pig jump out of the trunk and run down the embankment. My daughter tried to talk the man into coming back to get the other male pig, but no, the man said. He was just going to drive home. He had had enough for one day.
We got two more Lambs today, Hazel and Willow (already named).

Lots of BaaBaa sounds outside now!

I think stories like this is how the phrase "Comedy of errors" came to be.

Congratulations !!

I love little lambs.   Daydream   So cute and frisky!
My brother raised sheep for a number of years, and it was always so fun to interact with the little ones.
Two of our young, red roosters are now in the freezer.  My wife was angry with them picking and pecking HER and the young layers so it was easy to "process" them.

Basically yes, after all, my grandmother would make a giant pot of it when we were kids, in PA Dutch Country.

She had a secret ingredient in hers which I cannot disclose. Chuckle

Here is perhaps my very favorite chicken recipe, which I got from my Mom, may she be Resting In Peace.
It is also a "very favorite" with my kids and grandkids.

Her Chicken and Noodles were even better, but I never was able to make home made noodles like she did.   Daydream

Chicken Pot Pie
(“Chicken & Biscuits”)

Cut up a chicken (or use a pre-cut chicken) and put in a large cooking pot.
Cover chicken pieces with cool water and bring to a boil.  Simmer for only about 2 or 3 minutes, until scum forms.  Drain, wipe scum from pan (I use a paper towel to do this), and cover chicken with water again.  Add about ½ teaspoon salt, few shakes pepper, chopped onion, diced celery, a handful of chopped parsley, and a bit of diced jalapeño pepper.

Simmer until chicken is tender, about one hour.

Make biscuits with a little extra butter.

Using tongs, place cooked chicken pieces in large shallow pan.  (I will often remove all the bones, but you don’t have to do that.)
Drain a can of green beans (I prefer the French cut) and layer that over the chicken.

Thicken the broth:  Mix 1/2cup flour with cool water until the lumps are out.  Pour that into the broth, stirring continually until the broth thickens.
Pour thickened broth over the chicken.

Roll biscuits to half normal biscuit thickness.
Lay biscuits on top of the chicken.
Bake at 350˚about 25 or 30 minutes, until biscuits are done.
