Is anyone else on this site being bombed by these types of calls?
Mrs Sparks and I have a wire telephone line and we are bombarded with calls all day long.
Many calls sound like they are from off shore. The operators have accents.
Yesterday we had 26 unwanted calls.
Anyone else experiencing this crap?
Not 26, but lately, yes. It is texts for me. My amazon, netflix and venmo accounts have all been locked and I must click a suspicious link or they will be permanently disabled. Which is a miracle cause I don’t even own some of those!
Delete and report junk is about all I have left. The do not call list is still active…..fat lot of good it seems to be doing.
I had my land line disconnected around 10 years ago for this very reason a long with very shitty reception. Everytime it rained it would stop working. It happens on cell phone too, just not as much. Plus, my cell has call filtering, when turned on, it filters all calls or can also block any call that is not from a number on my contact list.
Hell, I have 6-8 calls a day on my cell phone from "potential scammers" because of my filter App.
I get calls and texts all the time from realtors who want to buy my house. I just reply that I won’t take less than one million dollars. That stops a lot of crap.
I have to remind my wife all the time to ignore and block anyone trying to sell her an extended warranty on her car. She is a slow learner.
i dont answer the phone, and the ringer is off.

We only have a land line (by choice). We used to get about 10 a day, most hang ups when the answering machine would kick in. For at least 15 or more years I've used the national Do Not Call list. I haven't had to add any spam calls lately as it's down to 2 or so a week (I know, shocking, heh?).
If they don't leave a number or it's a hang up, right after the call ends dial *69 and a recording will give you the last number that called you. Then, I register that # with the do not call list.
Register on the Do Not Call List.
Save the telemarketer phone #'s into your phone's Block List, if it has that feature.
