Back in my "New Age years" I read many books about Angels (one of my very favorite subjects!).
Suffice it to say, there is no question in my mind but that angels can only do what God has commanded them to do.
I converted to the Church around 22 years ago.
The St. Michael Prayer always confused me because of that one word -- "Rebuke".
I was browsing through a Catholic Gift Shop some years back, shortly after I joined the Church, and came across a plaque where someone had decoupaged an old St. Michael Prayer.
Reading it, I immediately noticed the wording, which was "command" instead of the now-used "rebuke".
Bingo !!
My immediate thought was "Someone changed that word!!!"
I discussed this with my priest, who pretty much dismissed my argument. (After all, who am I to challenge Church Teachings?)
He didn't exactly say that, but I could see I got no where with my argument.
sigh
Anyway, I say the St. Michael Prayer every day, but always use the word "command", and I have taught my children and grandchilidren to say it that way too (those who want to say the prayer).
*They* did this on purpose!!
tptb have 99.9% of the Catholic population asking God every day to rebuke St. Michael !!!!!!!!

Interesting, and not surprised. I have an old Catholic bible at Mom's, where is this verse, if I think about it, I will look it up!
Jude 1:9
Berean Study Bible
But even the archangel Michael, when he disputed with the devil over the body of Moses, did not presume to bring a slanderous charge against him, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
Not the first bible verse to be mandected. Strays occur and that is how you know the change was made.
It is like they upgraded the parent container of software, but because the child articles are not all tagged, they get missed. All bibles will be changed, but home made plaques, that would be missed.

This verse has always read this way for as long as I've been reading the Bible ... quite a few years ago now, so I'm not really convinced that it's a mandella effect. But, that is only my own opinion.

I thought I had a link to one of the 1800 bibles online, but apparently not. Looking anyway online,to see if it might be in one of these older bibles, I came across this:
Douay-Rheims Bible
Jude 1:9
When Michael the archangel, disputing with the devil, contended about the body of Moses, he durst not bring against him the judgment of railing speech, but said: The Lord command thee.

Heir,
Didn't you tell us once upon a time, you had an old 1800's bible? I'm curious what this scripture says in one!

Not that I remember .
I have several older publications . One from the 1920 's .
Once in a Washington State Winter , I did a 4 Version side by side read . King James , Living , Scofield Study and a Revised Standard .
Not much to do alone in the woods back then .
I presently defer to an Authorized King James . Sir Francis and the Shake Spear Society did a serious rework of the Deacons Bible . Praise His Muse , Pallas Athena . . .
Tell the truth I could have used a Dog .
- - - - -
ADD : Two Cats came out of the trees for company . They really appreciated each other and shared every thing I had to offer . Take that slice of cheese to Your Sister . . .
The Living Bible is way different . I would not consider it seriously .
.

I agree with you on the Living Bible ... It was the first 'adult' Bible I read from cover to cover - it's a paraphrase rather than a "translation".
PRIDE
AVARICE {GREED)
GLUTTONY
LUST
WRATH
ENVY
SLOTH
FEAR
GUILT
HYPOCRISY
VANITY
PREDUDUCE
Now I ask each one of you to ask yourself these questions. You may disagree or agree as you wish, but they are the TRUTH.
1 PRIDE: Are you so proud that you “lord” it over all you deem beneath you? Are you humble and treat others as you wish to be treated?
2. AVARICE: Are you possessed with having everything the best possible and are greedy for more money and materialistic things, even though you have enough?
3. GLUTTONY: Do you eat to excess of food and pile it in your body when you do not need it? Are you trying to eat that which will benefit your body to function at it best?
4. LUST: Lust is defined as bodily sexual appetite. So many ones are involved in this act and have defiled their own body.
5. WRATH: Wrath defined as extreme or violent rage or any act of vengeance Do you wish to inflict punishment or loss for the return of the same?
6. ENVY: Do you have a feeling of resentment or discontent over another’s superior attainments, endowments or possessions?
7. SLOTH: Are you lazy ? Do you think for yourself? Do you seek the God Spirit within you for knowledge and wisdom? Do you seek and know the Truth within?
8. FEAR: Fear is the greatest tool of Satan. Are you afraid to speak out for your own welfare? Are you worried, fearful to the point where you cause your body to be ill? Think about this! Read what I have said about fear in Journal 27.
9. GUILT: Have you let Satan, the Anti-Christ, trap you in past deeds you may have done and robs you of the present? Have you forgiven yourself dropped the baggage of the past and moved on seeking TRUTH?
10. HYPOCRISY: Do you accuse others of what you think is wrong when you are doing the same? I had trouble with the Pharisees in this sense. Thank about this.
11. VANITY: Are you vain, conceited, arrogant or showing undue admiration for yourself? Do you give that feeling arrogance over others? I have spent quite a few words about this deadly sin in Journal 27.
12. PREJUDICE: Do you judge others hastily before you even know them? Are you hateful to others?

Could someone explain to me, like I was a little girl, what this is and what it is about?
Dylan Louis Monroe is the guy that put all the Q maps together if you remember.

Not of this world.
Is this real? I think it is.
If it's not it is still a good read.
