Got the Jeep J10 out and fired it up ran it for awhile.
Gotta make a run to HEB and pick up some stuff today before snow and cold really hit next week.

Studded tires?

I have used studded tires for years,  From my experience IF you use them correctly they will keep you out of trouble.

IF they aren't enough then chains is the only other option and generally they are for when the snow gets really deep, OR when off-roading and the mud is supper slick and or deep.
Here's a pointer, too.  The tallest, skinniest studded snow tire works the best.  The lower the profile and wider the tread, the more resistance in snow.

Be careful with chains.  Check rim to brake caliper clearance closely.
My mind, a field of battles, struggles for peace in a tight place.

Very good advice!

Chains needs to have not only correct clearance but they need GOOD snubbers as well or your going to tear up your vehicle.

Narrower tires are the best these newer wide tires are nothing but skate boards for snow and ice, they are only good for sandy soil off road use.

We've already considered the zoom thing for the scamdemic.

Now let's stay open with a zoom meeting for the weather.

Blizzard or near- blizzard conditions are expected in the Midwest. I expect more than a foot of snow by tomorrow night along with high winds.
