Its hot as hell and drier than a pop corn fart.

It is the monsoon season and there is a chance it may rain tonight.  When it rains here, it is an event.  People come running out of their houses to watch it rain.  Its very special because we get so little of it.  I read somewhere that Phoenix gets approximately 4 inches of rain per year.

There is the usual surge in inner-city violence.  Every summer when it gets hot like this people start fighting.  Much of it is gang related imo.

How have you and your Mom been doing through the heatwave that struck your area?

Hugs
We got 4.5 inches of rain in a 2 hour period yesterday. Chuckle  Neighboring county has alot of damage.

Can you send some up to BC were in desperate  need whole damn province is on fire

The westerly winds is the only reason I am not choked with smoke this year. BC, eastern Wa and Oregon are all burning yet again. It does seem like less firebugs going for it this year, but I guess the vagrants have moved on to throwing rocks onto the freeway for fun.
That's been the latest, less fires more rocks.

This is where we ate lunch today. The enchiladas are the best anywhere.   There's a large population of Hispanic Catholics around here and the food is amazing around this area.   So good they sold out a day early.

Love for Fiesta Mexicana food was so strong this week, Our Lady of Guadalupe sold out.

With no food, organizers say they had to cancel Saturday’s scheduled sale. The parish also decided to call off the COVID-19 vaccination clinic set to coincide with the event at the Marlo Cuevas Balandran Activity Center, since the goal was to target the crowd that came out for the food sale.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — An increasing shortage of bus drivers has forced the Toms River Regional School District to change start times for five of its schools for the fall.

The five affected schools are Intermediate North, Intermediate South, Joseph A. Citta Elementary, Pine Beach Elementary and Beachwood Elementary.

Interim Superintendent Thomas Gialanella said the district was forced to make the changes because the situation with bus drivers is dire, an issue that was raised during the school board's June committee meeetings.

"At the June meeting we spoke about if we did not recruit more drivers we would have to adjust our transportation routes in order to provide transportation to our school community. Our situation has gotten worse since then," Gialanella said Friday in an email to Patch.

The district is short 29 full-time drivers and 20 substitute drivers, he said in a letter to parents that was emailed Friday but leaked to the public on Thursday.

Child Injured On Six Flags Ride Marks 3rd Incident In Last Month

JACKSON, NJ — A child was injured Wednesday while riding The Joker roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure, park officials confirmed Friday.

The coaster was closed Wednesday after the child was injured, said Kristin B. Fitzgerald, spokeswoman for Six Flags Great Adventure.

"We are unable to speculate as to the cause of the reported injury," she said...

...The NJ.com report also said the Nitro roller coaster was shut down due to a rider's complaint of a loose bar but inspected and found to be safe. Fitzgerald did not comment on the Nitro incident...

...The incident on The Joker is the third in a month at the amusement park.

El Toro has been closed since a June 29 incident where the rear wheels of one car "came out from their normal position in the rails" of the coaster, according to a report Six Flags filed with the Department of Community Affairs.
