Beyond the Fringe Dog Thread
Dog class was chaotic this evening, there were at least 16 dogs in the class and quite a few newbies. It looked like some of the newbies hadn't been through the introduction class, some of the newbies unable to control their dogs and some were just not connecting/communicating with their dogs in between the exercises.

My dog's buddy got trodden on twice. So the little Dacs was a little overwhelmed by the larger dogs that he didn't know.

My dog is almost ready to go up to the next class, I think he will be going up this year. He was very good under the circumstances this evening. Very pleased with him and his progress. He was unperturbed by the distracted dogs. During the exercises even if a dog touched him front on, he didn't respond or pull to be with the other dog.

Dog owners have been warned to keep an eye out for a plant that could harm their pets - after a spate of deaths in [url=https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/index.html]Northern Ireland
were linked to the hemlock plant.
The plant, often given the longer name of Hemlock Water Dropwort, contains alkaloids which attack the nervous system, which can cause breathing difficulties, paralysis and even death in domestic animals.

It's also harmful to humans, with its roots being the most toxic part.

A dog was taken ill and later died while out walking in Lough Neagh in County Antrim in early May, with the animal's death thought to be possibly caused by exposure to the poisonous plant. Several other canine deaths have been reported in the area.

Since the eco-mob at the council began allowing the grass to grow in dog walking areas it is causing environmental issues.

1. When the grass is too long and allowed to go to seed, that then can get into the dog's paws and hurt them.

2. Dog's like doing their business in long grass and then dog owners can't find their dog's poop.

3. Dog owners are complaining that everywhere looks unsightly in front of their homes due to the grass not being mowed in public areas.

5, There is plenty of Hemlock around in areas close to woodland due to the public areas not being cut.

So on the 21st June, dog class is having a party for their 70th anniversary. Half way through we've been asked to put our dogs in fancy dress.

I balk at the prices on-line for a one-off event and a majority of it is from China.

Anyway I found this child's outfit at the charity shop today for £1.50, its supposed to be a Batman's outfit but I think he makes a great Knight.

What do you think? Its' even got a cross on it.

Can't say that I see Batman here, but it's sweet on your dog.

Its got a cape too but it is rather too large for him, unless I can get a friend to make it smaller. There are bats on the corner of the cape, could cut those off. I didn't put the cape on him in the pic otherwise you wouldn't see any of his body and legs. I think that will have to do, I might put his googles on too just for fun, he looks so cute in googles.  Chuckle

This year, our catalpa went crazy. Rusty doesn't love it nearly as much as Belle did.

He's a very fuzzy Australian cattle dog or red heeler. Lots of Amish use them because they're calmer than border collies.

I thought he looked a bit like an Australian Sheepdog. They have the same colouring, we have two at dog class at different ages, they go to shows.
