I loved that !!  
What an amazing man !!  

He really is. 

And if you look at his earliest videos, especially a day or two before the march, there is a steeliness in his facial expression. You would think that after marching all that distance through all kinds of weather and physical challenge, that he would look even harsher. But no! He looks ten years younger and there is a real benevolence in his expression. The strength is still there -- absolutely -- but it's more like the strength of the true warrior, strength that comes from righteousness rather than anger.

It occurred to me, this is something every one of us could begin doing on a regular basis !!  

It's wonderful. How much more content we would be to give thanks for the beautiful land in which we live. No matter if you are in a city, suburb, or rural area ... you can always give thanks.

So true, and I do very often give thanks for that, but I meant his having a ritual and offering the tobacco to the land as an offering.  

Living in the PacNW, which is so very beautiful so much of the time, I often sing portions of the song "For The Beauty Of The Earth", especially when driving through the Coast Range.

Oh I haven't thought about that hymn in many years. It used to be one of my favorites -- and now, thanks to you, it will be once again! 

It resurfaced in my brain cells a couple years ago when my niece and I were driving to the coast.  

She was doing the driving, so I was just enjoying the scenery without having to think about much of anything else.
My niece has a beautiful singing voice, and I asked her to sing it as we drove along.
(I can carry a tune, but my singing voice isn't anything to write home about.)

She didn't know the hymn, so I taught it to her, and she was happy to learn a new hymn, "an oldie but a goodie".
