To be fair Tractor Supply sells the feed, but they do not produce it. They sell feed with their name on the bag, but it comes from a Purena mill.
At this time we don't know if the TS feed is mixed in the same vat as the brand name Purena Layena feed. If so there should be reports of chickens not laying after eating Purena feed. The truth is that many backyard chicken owners are noticing a problem with the TS feed. That part is real. Is there a concerted effort to destroy the Tractor Supply reputation? It has been an advocate for conservative, farm family values for several years. The drag queen show that got linked with the Tractor Supply did the company a lot of damage. Turns out that the drag queen show was held in a venue that had previously hosted a Tractor Supply event and someone failed to take down a Tractor Supply banner. But the damage has been done.

It snowed about 16 inches here yesterday/last night, so I just hung out inside and built a mealworm farm for my chickens.
I had to go to walmart for the first time since last spring and was a little shocked at how the selection for plastic bins had dwindled, while the prices increased. I spent about $50 on bins and oatmeal to feed the worms. Everything else I had in the garage. I followed this method: Took about an hour to complete. The part that took the longest was drilling the air holes in the bins. I'll give the weather a week to warm up a little before ordering the live worms from this place: https://flukerfarms.com/live-mealworms/ In a couple of months i should have loads of worms for the hens.

Just went out to fill the water dishes and bird baths....yes I know its 4 am....
No traffic last night not even the fox came out last night after the big snow storm.... My possum is picky...if its too cold he wont come out and get his dog food..... no footprints anywhere.....somewhere around 8" maybe 9 |
