@counterintelligence Thank you for starting this thread.

It fills a need as we go into winter in the northern hemisphere and summer in the southern hemisphere. Both extremes that impact lives here on the third rock.

My hurricane thread will soon disappear from the front page.

Wooly Worms are mostly brown this fall,
and there is hardly any pine cones in the conifers,
All signs of a mild winter here in Ont Canada.

See? This is another example that this is not just a forum but a international community. You people have created something very special. It will not surprise me if there will be a thread that we end up playing online chess, checkers, cards and what not. You people are awesome.  I feel very privileged.

Several years back we had a severe hail storm coming so I covered my truck with quilts and a large tie-down tarp. We had a lot of hail that night and I was afraid we might get some broken windows in the house.
The next morning I went out to check for damage. There was the usual broken tree limbs but my truck was fine. I had to call the power company because the telephone pole across the street had been pounded into the ground and was only about 3 feet tall.

@flatland, your quote was messed up.
One of my most fav Christmas songs!

There is plenty of room for both threads. I suspect you will be getting busy again, per someone I refer to a lot, Chuckle, and trust. Think weather manipulation guys!~
