My dumb ass self !
#1
Tonight I went to get something out of my truck (parked in the driveway) and my dumbass didn't turn on the flood lights.
Walked to the end of the porch where there is a cement walk way to my drive. There is about a 4" step down to the walkway. Stepped off and wasn't expecting it and went head over ass landing on my side with my arm under me.
Got some cracked ribs and a wrenched shoulder.
This is a public service announcement : "Turn on exterior lights so you can see or have a flashlight" !
Broken ribs suck and so does a injured shoulder (I have had both a few times before).
To bind up my ribs, I have one of those "streach" back braces and moved it to my upper chest and put it on.
I guess my ass is getting old.....
Why Johnny Ringo, you look like someone just walked over your grave ...

I feel for you brother. Last winter I took my dog out in the back yard when it was frozen snow and Icey. I did not have a flashlight so I could not see. I fell on my arse which hurt for several weeks. Two weeks later same thing only I broke a few ribs and took about 4 months to fully heal. I did not see the saw bones as I am stubborn like that and they ask you stupid questions like have you had the jab, flue shot etc. I don't bounce like I used to but I don't trust so called medical professionals.

Of course my wife keeps telling me to take a flashlight which I never do. It is a good thing I have had a few drinks or I might have really hurt myself.  Drinks

Went out the other night because I heard a noise and didn’t turn on the lights. I thought I had reached the bottom step but it was the one above it. I’m glad no one saw me tumbling.  No broken bones but a couple of new bruises and a sore hand.

A word of advice from your older Forum Sister:

The older you get, the more careful you have to be !!
It gets to the point where you are very cautious of every move you make.   Chuckle

Wise advise from a very smart lady. Will I take it? Probably not as I am a dumb ass and I do my own thing at my peril. It drives my wife nuts that I am so stupid. Hugs

reminds me of my buddies always telling me to take a flashlight when I'm hiking down a steep cliff to our fishing spot.
I know the place like the back of my hand but they insist that I must use a flashlight so I dont fall off the cliff LOL

The guys are still getting ready while I'm making my way down with no light LOL

That is the truth. I am a flashlight junkie. I have one handy all around the house, garage and shop. However, I have started to venture out in the dark only to retreat, remembering what a mess my broken ankle caused.

Side note. Carry your cell phone where ever you go. I take mine on a short jaunt into the garage. If I get hurt I can call my wife or 911.
Now is the time to get out of the trenches

Done that too. Ribs will take 6-8 weeks, just so you know.
