Going with my feeble gnostic guessing, maybe we are pieces of the Pleroma. 
The All of the aether. The Electric Universe, which manifests as radiation, matter,  plasma, consciousness.

Somehow, we have been drafted as "volunteers" -- conscipts to be chesspieces, soldiers, guinea pigs, laboratory specimens.

The evil entities in the Pleroma want us to suffer and become as evil as they are. 
The Anunnaki, the "gods" of Greek and Norse myth, were a bunch of vicious invaders of our peaceful home. 

Advanced Beings?? well, their tech was.
Their electric intelligence/consciousness/spirit? Low, evil, satanic.
I use these terms as philosophical concepts. Religions have confiscated moral issues.
Again, why must we have to accept any Authority?

Dan is one of the posters I highly respect for his investigations of the shiny objects that obsess human minds.

Which brings me back to the computer program which we hang around in, willingly or not.

Why WHY wye do humans think they have a clue about reality?
Psychiatrists explore the dna of how the mind works. I need to study the psychology studies into this idea, maybe called the god gene.
That is, a predisposition to believe in Authority, usually in the form of priests, scientists, political leaders.

All my long life I've heard people tell me I'm a bad egg. Because I never believed in god or government. 
But everyone else in my circle of family and friends is a God-fearing patriot who trusts the newspeople and dresses in the latest fashion.

The next question is, can the human mind overcome its dna programming?

2. their offspring (Titans) in a wacky subprogram were petrified as mountains, caves, geology;
3. invaders from an adjacent realm entered (Anunnaki); they gene-spliced their dna with that  Homo terrestris to create a slave species, Homo ignoranus
4. their civilization built beautiful architecture (Atlantis, Tartaria, etc.), much of which has survived their frequent wars with city-melting plasma weapons
5. today, a time of mass amnesia and massive ignorance

Our perception is limited to our knowledge.  Just because we've entered and are aware of digital tech does not mean that is our reality.  The universe is WAAYYY beyond our knowledge-based perception.
Our ancestors thought the fiery flying machines were dragons.  They thought an eclipse of the Sun was a beast devouring it.

We are infants in the time-line of knowledge and cannot perceive the true nature of our existence within this cosmos.  It is beyond our realm of comprehension.

While I agree that we are children, I think we might be capable of growing intellectually.
The gnostic idea of the Pleroma is especially interesting.
The aether is the totality of building blocks of reality.
That is, the Electric Universe, in which "atoms" are particles of dielectricity ++-++---.
Its forms are radiation, matter, plasma, consciousness/intelligence.

What is the purpose of this reality? the Life program.
Maybe, perhaps -- an experiment or game to test the worth of aeons who participate in this computer program.

The Nephilim are, in my understanding, the giant offspring of Anunnaki Elohim and human women.
Some sources claim that Enlil flooded the world to wipe out the (unauthorized) giants, who really coexisted with the (authorized) slave species of humans. This is the stuff of Greek and Sumerian myth which, by the way, Jon Levi touches on in his latest video.

He starts off with a mention of the World Ages -- gold, silver, bronze, iron -- and calls our time period the same thing I do. The Plastic Age. But he goes a step further by connecting it to silicon. As in silicon chips, a sly reference to our love of all things computer, the Internet of Things, maybe also the plasticity of gender and the whole fake reality.

My guess, still unchanged, is the fuzzy history of Titania (age of the Titans), Lemuria, Atlantis, Tartaria, and our modern plasticworld.
The Anunnaki waged constant wars amongst themselves with Directed Energy Weapons that melted brick and stone structures in Chicago, San Francisco, and other areas which are now deserts.
I also think that the "gods" are presently avoiding such annihilating warfare of aerial bombardment with plasma weapons. They probably want to preserve existing infrastructure while greatly reducing the surplus population of useless eaters, humans.

imo, the main reason for that is they were not raised on a farm or a ranch, where they learn Common Sense at an early age.

As for hydrogel, yes, only Gaia or Source can stop the toxification of her computer program. Like the Avatar movie, when the blue-skinned people pleaded with the Great Tree entity, Eywa ?, to save their planet from the evil humans.

A Royal Rife machine, multiplied worldwide, might kill the nanotechnology and restore the natural order.
I know this all sounds silly, but the whole electric universe is One Big nerd toy.
