You still need "clean" water to produce the beverage of choice.
When I was a kid (about 8-14) my uncle who lived in very rural Alabama made "Shine". When we would go visit, I would help him haul sugar, corn, yeast, cut wood and clean the still between runs (he would slip me several $20's before we left - alot of money for a kid in the 60's-70's)
In return, he taught me the art of making Moonshine....
One thing I did learn is that the mash cooked in the still caked the inside of the cooker and coils.
No matter how much you cleaned it, just making what was called a "water run" to clean out the system always left an off taste to the water condensed out.
You will still need a dedicated water still.....
