Update to BTF forum Rules – effective immediately

Nope. It has to do with some recent posts I ran across that troubled me, so I posted in the Mod forum for discussion.

While I completely comprehend the reasoning .... may I ask where the 'line' is (I could never really find it and always had to consider every post)?

So as a English man ... can I post:

"a named mp" should be bent over my knee and thoroughly spanked for their actions this day! - benign

or may I go so far as to post:

"a named celebrity" is an out and out sick pedo and should be hung, drawn and quartered! - verboten

or even:

"all of the parasitical supposed elite" need to be removed from this realm even if it means the use of deadly force! - verboten

asking for a friend who plays minecraft (so not this really real world ... which does seem more and more totally fake clown bull).

In an effort to keep the forum safe from unnecessary scrutiny, we are adding to the TOS a rule with regards to statements of a violent nature.  Specifically: Posts promoting the incitement of violence or retribution are prohibited, and will be deleted.

Beyond The Fringe TOS

I thought it was already in the BTF TOS

During discussion at first we thought it wasn't there, then turned out it was. This is a reminder to follow the TOS or risk posts being deleted or being banned depending on how frequent infringements are.

That's fairly general and not too specific ~ however if you spiced it up with descriptive destructive efforts with knives, hatchets and agricultural implements or laying out a plan to do evil ~ the boyz & girlz with sunglasses might think ya' need an IRS audit and the forum is subversive and needs to be closed and the staff sent to Gitmo.

Comments like:  "All xxxx need to be hung by the neck until dead."  That's a bit more specific and depending on the xxx, prolly racist, to boot.

I personally don't see too much of an issue with it, and knowing your posting style I wouldn't think you'd post it after someone else posted "Hang XXXX...". Why would anyone want to post that? Not good karma in my books, no matter how much anyone in the agencies we're pissed off at, I'd never put that out there. I'd say that might be 'right up to the line'.

Guys, we are just asking that you use some restraint and apply some common sense.

There is a big difference between stating a desire for misfortune, ie I hope xyz gets run over by a bus, and the more direct ie I want to run xyz over with a bus.

Most here will understand sentiments veiled in innuendo as an expression of desire for justice meted out by karma, the cosmos, or perhaps even our own legal system (dare to dream) without voicing it in a way that could be construed as a call to action. 

As far as TPTB coming down on the forum, it is unlikely that any of us will receive any direct notice of impending action as the forum owner is MIA, it will probably just disappear, just like any individual will not know that any of their posts have have triggered a J6 type of response until they get a knock on the door.

The admins & mods are just trying to keep posted content within certain limitations as to not be a nail sticking up asking for a hammer to come down on it.
