I was hunting an Elk ( big one) last fall back in Alberta... shot him with my 270 (family rifle) at 248 yards... back in 2009 I bagged a real big moose in the yukon at 317 yards with my own 3006 ... Why would i need any rifles different?

1 really big reason would be that both of the rifles you mentioned are probably bolt action and those kind of rifles are not really good for home/self defense.

Also, different strokes for different folks, some people only want 1 or 2 guns of a similar nature, and there is nothing wrong with that, but other people want a multitude of different guns and styles of guns. I for one, like variety. I love shooting my single shot bolt action 300 win mag, but I also love to dump a 30 round mag from my ak.

Right on .. I have 6 seperate guns that are autoload... including a 223, 3030, 270, 3006, 300 win mag and a 458 Winchester Magnum ...  but i use bolt actions of the same caliber to hunt

The Reduction of Gun Violence, or Ballot Measure 114 (read the measure), requires Oregonians to get a police-issued five-year permit that can cost up to $65 to acquire a firearm, requires permit applicants to have completed a firearm safety course, requires and FBI criminal background check, requires a full set of fingerprints besides valid photo identification of the permit applicant, requires police maintain a permit/firearm database and criminally prohibits ammunition magazines or clips that hold more than 10 rounds or shots.

Other than that part it's no different than what I went through to get my concealed carry handgun permit.

I agree that it's infringement. I'm sure GOA will challenge it in court long before the NRA even finds out about it.

The people who vote for this shit don't see it as voting their rights away. They see it as voting our rights away and they don't even think we should be allowed free speech or be allowed to exist in their fantasy utopia.
