The Reduction of Gun Violence, or Ballot Measure 114 (read the measure), requires Oregonians to get a police-issued five-year permit that can cost up to $65 to acquire a firearm, requires permit applicants to have completed a firearm safety course, requires and FBI criminal background check, requires a full set of fingerprints besides valid photo identification of the permit applicant, requires police maintain a permit/firearm database and criminally prohibits ammunition magazines or clips that hold more than 10 rounds or shots.

Other than that part it's no different than what I went through to get my concealed carry handgun permit.

I agree that it's infringement.  I'm sure GOA will challenge it in court long before the NRA even finds out about it.

The people who vote for this shit don't see it as voting their rights away.  They see it as voting our rights away and they don't even think we should be allowed free speech or be allowed to exist in their fantasy utopia.

Even when they, their wives and daughters are raped and murdered they'll apologize to the person who did it

Apparently, my state (NC) kicked ass in the elections last night. Republicans sent a goa backed candidate to the federal senate but what happened at the state level is on another plain altogether. Republicans now hold a super majority in our states senate and only lack having one in the house by 1 seat. We all but demolished coopers veto power. We also sent 2 right wing people to the state supreme court giving the republicans a 5-2 majority. On the local level, the only democrats that won in my county were the 2 that ran un-opposed by low level positions. What what I can tell by the numbers, a lot of people decided not to make a selection in those 2 boxes.

Definitely an excellent video.  I like that shotgun.  I was looking at getting a Mossberg Shock Wave pump action gun.

But, this semi auto gun is very appealing.

And as the program host said, never use crappy ammo.  This applies to all firearms.

Firearm sales poised to eclipse pre-pandemic records

'There is a clear and steady desire by the American public for lawful firearm ownership'

(GUNS IN THE NEWS) – Firearm sales in October and September were down roughly 12 percent and 9 percent, respectively, when compared to the same months in 2021 – a market normalization experts predicted after the demand the past two years. Pundits, however, didn’t anticipate 2022 would be poised to claim third-place honors in the record books by shattering all pre-pandemic gun-purchase highwater marks.

“[W]ith two more months to go before year-end, this calendar year’s total unit sales are expected to come in at somewhat less than 18 million units, the highest ever save for the 2020 and 2021 Covid-19 pandemic years,” Jurgen Brauer, chief economist for Small Arms Analytics & Forecasting (SAAF) said. October’s total sales, according to his estimate, came in at roughly 1.3 million. In September the figure was about the same, with August coming in at 1.4 million.

“August’s figures show there is a clear and steady desire by the American public for lawful firearm ownership,” Mark Oliva, a spokesperson for the National Shooting Sports Foundation said in early September. “Consistently throughout the year, background check figures for firearm sales at retail have put 2022 on pace to be the third strongest year, behind only the outsized years witnessed in 2020 and 2021.”

Well, with the senate looking more and more like a 51/49 split with the democrats having a simple majority and only 1 vote off of what is needed to do away with the filibuster which is the ONLY thing preventing them from banning every mothafuckin thing we like to own I suspect a major run on all things semi auto and any magazine that holds more than 10 rounds is about to get scarce.
