If Trump were to resist arrest, it would simply give them the excuse to kill him, one way or another, in the process.
A lethal dose from a stun gun/taser that conveniently 'misfired'?

Trump will surrender to face charges if indicted, defense lawyer says
Published Fri, Mar 17
Key Points
● Former President Donald Trump will follow the normal procedure in surrendering to face criminal charges if indicted by a Manhattan grand jury, his lawyer said.
● The lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, spoke on the heels of a report by WNBC that federal, state and local law enforcement agencies are preparing for the possibility that Trump will be indicted as early as next week.
● Trump is under criminal investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office in connection to a hush money payment his former personal attorney Michael Cohen made to porn star Stormy Daniels shortly before the 2016 presidential election.

"Ever since the grand jury was empaneled in recent months, and the perceived likelihood of an indictment grew, questions have been raised about whether Trump would resist surrendering if charged, and what would happen if he did so.
Trump, who has 24-hour protection by the U.S. Secret Service, currently resides at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, which he rarely leaves.
Under Florida law, the state’s governor is responsible for making sure a person in the state is arrested and delivered to another state if that person is indicted on a felony charge."

Oh wow.

So DeSantis is the one responsible to arrest and deliver Trump if Trump is indicted?

Well, well, well...doesn't that put our golden Governor between a rock and a hard place? Or, does it? V6sRZf4
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?" Death thought about it. "CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE."

It seems to me it does.  Nod

If DeS. turns him in, at least 80 million registered voters will hate him, thus ending his political career.

If he doesn't ... Not sure what would happen if he refuses to turn him in.
Maybe @Hickory could answer that question for us?

The “Combating Fentanyl” bill introduced by Republican Sen. Joan Huffman, SB 645, passed unanimously.
The legislation would reclassify deaths due to fentanyl as poisonings and open up anyone who makes, sells, or delivers the drug to being charged with murder if someone overdoses.
According to a report from the Texas Tribune, “the bill would also increase the penalty for making or delivering less than 1 gram of fentanyl from a state jail felony to a third-degree felony. If a person dies from an overdose as a result of that manufacturing or delivery of the drug, that penalty is escalated to a second-degree felony. In 2021, Huffman authored a law that increased penalties for manufacturing or delivering more than 1 gram of fentanyl.”

If society fell apart, we - the people would build a new one. Most people are good at their core, and when we see things that are wrong we work to fix them together. Make friends with your neighbors, get involved with your community - because we will rebuild our lives, our communities, from horrible circumstances we always will.

LOL! I can try to answer, given the VERY limited information we have received (I don't know any more than you do!).

IF what we have read is accurate, the State of Florida has a law making the Governor responsible for extraditing people indicted in other States [jurisdictions]. Thus DeSantis is bound by that law to apprehend, detain, and extradite anyone who qualifies under this statute.
If DeSantis does not carry out his legal duty, HE would be in violation of the Laws of the State of Florida, and HE would now risk being arrested, too. That would also most likely tank his political career! I have no idea what the penalty would be for failing to carry out the provisions of that law. There is always the possibility that the law would not even address that unforeseen possibility! If so, there would be no repercussions, but I feel sure that Debbie Wasserman Schultz and others of her ilk would demand immediate impeachment proceedings to begin.
If he does arrest Trump, he can always argue that it proves that he is a law and order guy, but a certain percentage would NEVER forgive him, and in Florida, not to mention the Country, that could be significant.

What we haven't discussed is that Trump will make bail and be right back out on the streets unless the judge declares him a flight risk, and in that case, he will be incarcerated until he is found innocent, and if he undergoes a trial by jury, his chances of being found innocent in Manhattan are barely better than a trial in DC!
And his chances of getting a jury full of Clinton/Biden donors is greater in Manhattan! V6sRZf4
