Here is a worst scenario - how do you recover ?

Here is a real world possibility - how would you deal with it ?
You are preparing to cook dinner and suddenly you find out your stove quit working.
The broiler still works but the oven heat element doesn't work - how do you cook your food ?
Assume you are in a 40th floor NYC apartment and have no gas burner grill.
HOW ARE YOU GONNA COOK ?
Think fast on your feet and get this meal out....
You better start believing in ghost stories Miss Turner, because you are in one....

What meal?

Steak? We're already in business.
Hard Spaghetti?....it's gonna take some time, but cast iron cooker that sucker into a casserole.

Double crust something and bake both sides of the pie. It works fine for meat, or sweet.

Fat girl is gonna EAT! A pox on your broken stove. Tis but a flesh wound.

Doesn't matter what you are cooking, only that your oven failed - but @PickleSnout, you are on the right track  Heartflowers

Pressure cooker...then broil.

I literally just made a whole chicken like that for dinner.

It was moist on the inside and crispy on the outside.

Ask a neighbor if you can use their kitchen for a while and clean up nice when you're done.

Taking it a step further to the real worst case scenario.

NO electricity, natural gas or propane and the stores are out of small propane bottles and charcoal is long gone.

NOW what are you going to do?

Big cities will be in panic. possibly a solar cooker IF the sun is out.

That is something to think about as there is NOT many options and you can bet 99% don't know how/what to do.

IF this were to escalate into this scenario (not this time,YET) things will be VERY bad.
