RC Bashing - My next new thing
#1
So after the virus decided to ruin my trip to the new Star Wars land at Disney and I got bored with lightsaber collecting since the main reason I was doing it was postponed indefinitely....  I had to find something else to geek out on.

I busted my old RCs cars out and quickly remembered why they were in a box.  They sucked.  Can't even drive over a garden hose or through the grass.  So I hit the old Amazon and ordered what looked like the best cheap rc that would get the job done but not cost a ton.   And I had a blast.  Even the cheap ones these days are miles above the old toy grade ones we used to play with.

But just like real cars, once you get hooked - you want to go bigger faster farther.    So now I went from 1 new one to 4, with another one coming today.

I made some vids of various lengths and qualities.  When I was researching what to buy I found myself watching hours of other peoples videos and really appreciated the insight and real world demonstrations.   If anybody is bored and running out of covid distractions, I highly recommend RC bashing as a great stress reliever.

Here is some action with my Redcat Kaiju and Judge S920 at a skatepark near me and in the back yard and my JLB Cheetah doing backlips to destruction in the front yard.  Moe and Peppa make an appearance and you get to see me after a week with no shower in all my glamour with dangling cigarrete included.  Not my finest fashion hour.  Facepalm  Hey, its a pandemic lockdown.  shut up.   Lmao

Is that your rescue dog with the cone?  How's he doing?
Think I'd get bored pretty fast with the RC stuff

I had a Cox car when I was a kid.  Used fuel and had a battery to warm the flow plug.  It was pretty fast but it either went straight or in a circle.  There was no remote control

and @FlyoverCountry:
Decades ago I bought my 10yo son a gas powered Peugeot 205 AWD RC rally car.  That thing was a blast, especially in winter.
Never a boring moment.  My son would change tyre types, remove the shocks and change the oil viscosity, adjust toe and camber angles depending on where he was running it.
He learned a lot and still has it.  But he graduated to RC helicopters and of course drones.
He'll be 40 this July but still enjoys the RC crafts while running an IT design business.
My mind, a field of battles, struggles for peace in a tight place.

Yep that's Moe!  He has his cone off now and is doing fantastic.  He and the little pug are buddies and play together constantly.

Its not boring so far.  I just find new things to do/jump.  And I also have a little 1:18 scale crawler that i switch to if I get tired of the fast ones and jumping.   I built a little crawl course along my backyard river with a little rope bridge.   I'll have videos of that soon.   Totally different experience going slow and crawling over rocks and obstacles and trying to not fall off or tip over.  Also there is a lot of time fixing things on the workbench or making adjustments, adding upgrades, trying different combinations.   You can make it as simple or complicated as you want.  I also have some small star wars drones that are a blast.  An x-wing, tie fighter, and speeder bike.  Super easy to fly and super cheap.  They were discontinued and you can pick them up for about 50 bucks instead of the 200 or more they originally cost.  If you have 2, you can have battles and shoot each other with infra red beams and make the other one "crash land" when you hit it. Really fun.
